My chicks are 4 weeks. How much to feed?

Hello. Do I still keep their feeder full at all times? Or do I just fill it twice a day? I filled it this morning (its one with 14 holes, 7 on each side) and they ate it all already (it's noon) I filled it back up. Is that ok or should I not fill it up again til night? I have 16 4 week olds.

I kept feed available to my chicks at all times. Still do now that they're grown.

Well, what I did was take the top off. It didn't seem like they could get all the way to the bottom for the food cuz they're getting bigger. They ate it all up and I refilled it, but they didn't go crazy for it. They are just sleeping now. I guess they eat when they are hungry right? not just cuz it's there. Thanks!

You already got the answer but I thought I'd ditto it..... keep their feeder full at all times.


I also like to spread some feed into the shavings so they have something to scratch around for. That keeps them busy and happy.
