My chicks are dieing

I could be wrong, but my gut is telling me coccidiosis. That would explain the large number of deaths you've had in a short period of time.
Someone else needs to chime in here.
The yogurt with probiotics idea is probably a good one to help balance out the flora in the gut.
This has been bothering me since I read it-that is a large loss in a couple of days so it is either something they ate or something that is highly contagious and kills quickly(like coccidiosis)-I know that is a no brainer statement there, sorry.
Crap-I hate that I can't give you a good answer!

There are certainly a lot of smart people on here, but the most knowledgeable ones will be on the emergency / diseases / cures section. I think you should repost there and if anyone would know, they will see it. Good Luck.

I would like to thank everybody for posting. And thank you for your sympathy too. It stink my chicks are dying and don't know why. I will call the hatchery tomorrow and see what they say. And hopfully can get rid of that disease. Thank to each and every single one of you who posted. I will also try the yogurt!

What hatchery? I never loose chicks in any big number and lost half of one order this spring from MM..the second attempt comes tomorrow in the mail so I will wait and see but not holding out hope...mine were 4 days old when they arrived-they ship on Sat and arrive on Monday but the box clearly stated hatched on Friday several doa rest died over a 3 day period..it wasn't cocci it was just too much stress too many days without food and water.Not just me either I know lots of people around me that have had half or more die from there this year.

You have them in your shed? Is there anything else in the shed? Paint, paint thinner, kerosene, gas, oil, auto fluids of any type? Fumes from any of those things might be the culprit if anything like that is in a closed in space with them.
Is there an unvented gas water heater in the shed?

Are the poops maroon or bloody at all?

Maybe moving them to a completely different brooder, separate out the sick ones?
