A friend got me some fertile eggs for my broody hen to hatch. I wondered if anyone know what breed they might be. They could have came from different chickens. My Cochin is raising them.

They are adorable! But I think it's really too early to tell. Do you know what breeds of hens and rooster(s) your friend has? That would determine the heritage/breed of the chicks. I'm gonna guess these are mixed breed, but they may not be. If you post pics of them around 6 weeks old, we can give better feedback on breed and tell you if they're boy or girl.

If you can ask your friend to ask the lady, that would work too. If not, we can do our best to ID them around six weeks.

Unless some awesome person who is better than I am at IDing chicks happens to see this post and can ID them now. :)

Thank you. I will ask and wait to post more pics when they are older.

I got pictures of the chickens she had. Mostly rhode island reds and a huge white rooster Some mixed gray hens. So they are mixed breed for sure.
