Newbie here... as I type this my not-so-smart chicks are standing out in the pouring rain. They have a coop to go into, the door is open, but they are out in their outside pen. When it was drizzling earlier I went out and turned on their light and rattled the food container to entice them inside and 4 of 5 of them came in. Now some of them are back out. Are they so dumb they don't know to go inside when it starts to pour? (I live in Florida, so it's nice and warm outside, I don't have to worry about the cold too much) Do I need to do something to intervene? Am I just worrying too much? Thanks for any words of wisdom.

I wouldn't worry at all. It's 29 degrees and sleeting at my house right now. All my chickens are outside. In fact, my rooster has icicles on his tail feathers.
They seem to know when they've had enough and go back inside.
Edited for spelling. I've been out of school too long.

If it's warm I wouldn't worry about them. I have had to bring mine in before when it starts to snow/sleet...cause they will just sit there on there outside roost all puffed up. Crazy chickens!

My chickens like to play in the rain too, and the duck tries to run inside...
