My chicks are STILL scared of me!!!

It's almost been a week. They are 3 weeks old. They still run from my hand. They'll eat out of it, and they'll sleep in my palm if I pick them up, but when I try, they run away! Only one will wallk up on my hand, Barbecue.

I have found that some chicks you just can't make friends with, but my friend gave me some advice, bananas.. she had them so that they would come running and fly up on her shoulder for a nana treat!

My chicks will do anything when I give them mashed hard boiled eggs. Even come to me and jump on my hand. Give them time. They will always be a little spoked my you hand. When ever you want them to come to you, you should always have food for them. That's the only way they will get know that you hand is not a threat but a friend. You asee they don't associate the hand as being part of you. But as s strange thing coming to get them.
Just be patient, it will that more then a couple weeks. But each time you do this they will learn.

Chicks are not the same kind of an animal as a puppy or a kitten and expecting them to act as such is unrealistic. If that's the kind of "pet" you wanted you should have gotten a dog or a cat.

Maybe they know that you are Barbeque. In all reality, Katy is right on the money.
