So my chicks are 8 weeks this week. Not one has developed a wattle or large comb. Every day i go out and look them over for signs of rooation.

Anyhow, Dragon has huge feet and is always the first to check things out, he will also charge at new things. His feathers look suspiciously saddled. No waddles or coloration yet, but he does have big feet. He is the most friendly bird I have, does not mind being petted or picked up. Also hes the biggest bird.

Nibbles, which I renamed to Raven because of his deep black feathering and narrow face, looks like a roo to me. Still no wattles or comb or color. His feet arent big, but he has that knock kneed long leg look of a roo as well, his tail feathers are short and curly making his bum look like a muffin. He also stands and walks like a roo, lifting one leg and tucking it under him. (no its not cold when he does that) He is more stand offish and not as bold as Dragon. Also his back feathers are much thinner than Dragons and are starting to look like they are saddling.

Feathers Im pretty sure is a girl. She has a fluffy back feathers that are scalloped rather than thin. Although she seems to be growing a larger comb. Still no color. Big feet though. She and Dragon are the largest birds. She does have some pinking where her wattles will grow in.

Blue, my blue australorp. Very friendly bird, very active, always trying to get out. Always at the door running back and forth. No coloration, no waddles, her back feathers are scalloped and rounded like a girl. Her comb though is a tiny bit larger, though not as large as Feathers.

Nugget. Nugget the troll lol. At first he was acting like Raven, his feathering was late and it almost seemed that he was getting the same back feathers as Raven. But the tail feathers are starting to look less and less like a roo. The feathers on his back are looking more like Dragons feathering, thin, but no skinny like Ravens.

I thought at 8 weeks I would see some sort of waddle/comb development. Especially on Raven. The only bird that has given me a hint is Raven, and the only one I ahve that Im sure is a roo is Stumpy.

They really are trolling me. They refuse to give up thier gender. I think they like it here and dont want to be rehomed so they are keeping themselves secret.

What in the world do i have?????

Really? No roos?? Ive been awfully suspicious of Raven lol.

Im really glad to hear it though! I love all of them and I hate to think of getting rid of any of them. They are so much fun to have! Each one is special.

Im really glad Im getting a good prognosis lol. Someone just gave me a beautiful Blue Australorp Roo that is 3 months old. If the other bords are truely all girls, Ill be breeding him to them next spring. Hes a nice heavy built bird with amazing dark black eyes. He has a nice face too and long legs. Hes already crowing lol. He has a nice deep voice and a strong songlike crow, not harsh or raspy/screamy.
