My chicks dont like me

Try not to take it personally when chicks don't seem to like you. Millions of years of evolution preceded domestication, and, thankfully, many chicks have retained the very adaptive instinct to fear an object passing over them (like an aerial predator) or anything that tries to snatch them up (like any predator). This instinct will serve them very well if they every have the chance to free range. Just be patient, spend a lot of time with them, handle them often, sit down on the ground and let them walk on you, and they will eventually tame up. Try to imagine how you would feel if an animal hundreds of times your size tried to pick you up. That's how they feel, but will eventually learn that you mean no harm. Some breeds will take longer than others, and some individuals within a given breed will take longer than others.

Mine are a year now and the two that wouldn't let me pick them up as chicks are the first ones now to come to me. If I sit down they are right on my legs, so don't worry they may surprise you.
