I did call McMurry on monday when I didn't get a call from the post office to verify that they were shipped and was told that they had been , and that they would replace or refund me for any lost chicks they were very helpful and seem to be a good hatchery from everything I have read.

I agree, the postal system has been messing up this year. I ordered from Ideal, shipped Wednesday, USPSdidn't get them in until Friday night. 6 out of 50 chicks died, 3 out of 5 ducklings DOA, other 2 died within 30 minutes of getting them home. I contacted Ideal, they sent replacements and all are doing fine. Last year, ordered turkeys from Mt Healthy in Ohio, USPS took too long and the PO never called (box clearly marked call on arrival), substitute delivering mail that day carried them around with her all day. 7 out of 15 DOA, 2 more died by the next morning. Hatchery replaced the losses and sent one extra (there was an extra in the original shipment also). Contact the hatchery, they will replace or refund.

The folks at Ideal said that they have been having a LOT of problems with delivery this year. Good luck with your babies!

thanks frosty hope all of your new ones do well too! The hachery is sending out replacements for the ones that died this saturday 'hopefully they will all be ok
