You should have heard the ruckus
I have 11 week old chicks that get to free range for an hour or so in the evening, me with my stick and whistle, watching the sky for hawks.
I also have 7 week old chicks that are in a portable dog kennel (xpen) inside the coop. They have just moved to the coop 2 days ago. They are still separated from the main coop and the 11 week olds to avoid nasty pecking etc.
When I let the 11 week olds out tonight the 7 week olds had a fit.
They all crowded into the corner closest to the door and scolded me the entire time the other kids were outside and they were stuck inside.
It took them along time to settle back down once free range time was over and it was time for bed.
They may be in the dog kennel but they let it be known that I am in the dog house.
