Yep! I wanted a colorful egg basket, and wavered on white eggs... but they were soooo cute! I just worry about her in the winter being a smaller breed and with that Leghorn cmb. I'll just have to be extra vigilant with her. <3

When do you think you'll be getting your babies? It's so exciting!!!!

<3 Thank you! She's an Exchequer Leghorn! So like other Leghorns she'll lay a ton of beautiful white eggs, but her feather pattern will be white with black feathers mixed in like spots! <3

I think my DH is starting to come around. He has been talking about coop design. He doesn’t want to do it until 2020, but if I can come up with a temporary solution that won’t require his skills, I might be able to get started this summer.

He groaned when the McMurray catalog arrived today, but he did start talking about coop placement.

I hope he comes around quickly for you! It's funny how my husband was the same way, and he explicitly told me that I would be the one taking care of "Those Chickens". He'd build me a coop but that was it! A week into having these little fluffballs, he admits sheepishly his Fatherly instincts have kicked in, and he loves them... Also he has a favorite, and he installed a chicken cam so we can watch them remotely and he can show people at his work. XD I await such stories from you!!!! <3

Mine is a giant softie. He is worried that I might get meat chickens and slaughter them. His only objection is that he has a ton of work to do this summer on the house, and he wants me to wait. I hate waiting! I’ve been going crazy doing chicken research for about 6 months. But yesterday he showed me where we might add a coop alongside the barn, or in the barn with the run just outside. I like that idea; I think we could make it very safe in there.
