My co-worker is a pheasant

My co-worker while I telework from home happens to be a yellow golden pheasant.

He/she is beautiful! I’ve never seen a pale one like that.

Is it normal for my pheasant to act wild in his coop when I try to get him into his crate so I can bring him indoors, but when he is inside my home he acts "tamed"?

He looks behaved in the photos of him perching on the chair, but when he is placed back inside his outdoor coop he runs around like crazy avoiding me.

Unfortunately I am no help as I have no experience with pheasants. I would wait for someone more experienced to reply. Good luck resolving your issues!

No gamebirds like to be chased around their enclosure, or be approached from above....better to try and pick them up from the side or underneath them.
The reason he is acting 'calm' is because he is unsure of his surroundings, ie; scared.

If I continue (everyday) to bring my pet pheasants inside my home during the day and putting them back in their outdoor coop at night, will they eventually learn that I am not a threat?

Or should I just give up and not interact with them anymore?

From my point of view they seem to be getting tamer everyday since I got them. It’s a slow process I must say, but if I were to compare them to when I first got them, they were more scared of me before than present day.
