I bought 4 chicks, all supposed to be girls.....2 of them have a higher tail set than the other 2. Combs and wattles are all still very small and light in color, but one is a bit darker. I am a total newbie, so any educated guesses are appreciated. No crowing so far,
either.

Thanks for any help here

And here is a pic of their "playground"

Looking forward to some good info.

They all look like pullets (girls) to me. I had one with my last batch and she was the most broody hen I had! :D All she wanted to do was hatch eggs. She was a great mom though! Love that breed!

Thanks! I am hoping they are all 4 pullets, especially since I just want them for fun, not breeding. Some nice fresh eggs and friendly chickens is all I want. LOL

All pullets! You'll enjoy your little Columbians-- I have one, and she's my favorite chicken.

YAY!! 3 out of 3 say pullet thank you thank you
The smallest pullet has been very social from the beginning. She will stop eating treats to come over to me for attention. How cool is that! I call her Sweetie, of course. LOL All are friendly and will take treats out of my fingers. Nice chickies, I'm sure enjoying them.

Hi Diana! I purchased my chicks from a local feed store in Kingman. I ordered the Coumbians from them. The chicks came from McMurray hatchery and they had a variety of breeds available at the feed store. Do you have any local independent feed stores that might order chicks for you? Or you could split an order right from the hatchery with someone there in your city. Your pullets and "roo" are really pretty
