First of all -I love the look of your coop! So sharp looking.

I have a question, with the run being short in height, how do you clean it out? is that what that part of the roof is with the hinges is for?

Im having to add on more run to my coop and I'm thinking of something like yours.

Thanks

Thanks for the compliment. I'm proud of it. To answer your question, the hinged roof over the run is for access. It allows me to get in there and rake it out when needed. Obviously, I have to stoop to get all the way in there, but it's not a problem because I've only had to clean it out once or twice since building the original coop a few years ago. Thanks again, Scott

Thanks. They seemed to be...

Great job, that’s a nice coop! Hmmm you are giving me ideas already and my first one isn’t even finished! My DH may not be too happy about that, he is already fussing about those "darn chickens". But I think he will warm up to them eventually.

Well, it is meant to appear flat/level. However, there is a subtle slope away from the main house to help with run off. Also, the entire roof is hinged so that there is access into the brooder house from above.
