It's done chicks spent their first night out doors! Does anyone recognize the frame? I bought a decrepit nativity someone had built and was getting rid of and that's what we converted into my chicken house! My Hubby is just thrilled to have them out of the bathroom! :

They love their new run. They got in there looked around and rolled and rolled in the sand. My daughter thought they were all sick. I had to explain they were taking baths. She just looked at me like I was nuts. But now I can look out my back window and see my chickies!

What a great idea for a coop. It really looks good.

One question... Does the coop have any windows or ventilation? If you lock the birds in there during the summer without ventilation, they will cook. A 6 in or more wire covered space all around the top and wire covered window would make the birds more comfortable and give some light.

Darling coop.

I do agree with allen wranch there needs to be some ventilation. Chicken ploop and breathing can generate a lot of moisture. You need ventilation to get rid of it. I put mine up high by the roof that way they don't get drafts.

X2 on the ventlilation. A must have. you could just cut out squares on all sides, and frame the cutouts with 1x3 and hinge em. Its easy and a good way to get cross vent.
