My coop is getting built today

This is so exciting! They know what they are doing and have all the super awesome tools.

Here you can see where I'm having them do extra ventilation up high.

They'll be finishing tomorrow.

They're going to put clear stain on it tomorrow.

I've read recommendations about making whitewash and whitewashing the inside of the coop. I guess that's still a good idea over stain? I'd be happy to hear advice.

@Purple Rose likes the look of the clear stain over the wood, and this is for her after all.

I hope it is! Not gonna be up there with Fireguy's or Sandyks's coop - man, those are both nicer than my first house! Wired for electricity and a built in sink and all that OMG.

But yeah, these guys are pros.

Nice coop whitewashing also helps deter mites so not a bad idea. We did a lot of whitewashing on the farm when I was a kid. Milkhouse and chicken barn mainly.

Looks good so far ... remember big/large roof over hangs are good for both shade, and keeping rain out of open windows and vents ...
