As far as a predator digging under, I have a couple ideas.
1. Bury concrete blocks, boards, plywood or metal sheets around the coop.
2. My wife had the idea to attach a piece of 3-4 feet deep wire to the bottom of the coop and just lay it flat on the ground. I would probably burry the end so my kids don't trip on it. We think predators would not be able to dig through the wire and would not be smart enough to back up 3 feet to where the wire begins.
We will see which one is actually more feasible.
The recycled materials were definitely a bonus! This coop actually ended up costing very little because I did a clean up job for my brother-in-laws rental property and found lots of usable wood, windows, and metal sheeting.
