So 6 square feet per bird... hmm, I would say that’s a bit tight, since I personally think 12-15 is most appropriate, but they seem happy so I wouldn’t worry

Well, 20 of them are little so it isn't a problem....yet.

Um no every chicken should get at least 100 square feet

And they free range, the enclosure is just for when I'm not coming home until after dark, ect. and in the daytime I put in fledglings and old hens
