I am such a chicken newbie! I went to the local TSC 3 weeks ago and fell in love with chicks that they had on sale for $1 each. So of course, I bought 8. The sign they had said pullets. I was such a newbie that I thought that pullet was the breed. I didn't have a coop. Luckily I did have a rabbit cage. I didn't know anything about chickens. I learned real quick that chickens grow FAST! I finally got my coop built this last weekend thanks to my DH. We converted an old outbuilding. I have learned so much from this site and have SO MUCH MORE to learn. I still don't know what breed they are. .

Nice set-up! I was at TSC recently, and I saw they had a bin of "red pullets." I'm going to guess that's what you've got...if so, it's a mix of Red Sex-links, New Hampshire Reds, and Rhode Island Reds, I think. You may have been unprepared, but it looks like you sure threw up a coop in a hurry! Don't even ask how old our first babies were before they got to move outside to their new coop!
