I know there are umpteen gazillion quail hatching posts, but this one is mine!
I got some cotrunix quail eggs from JJ in Florida. Despite -15 temps across much of the USA, the eggs were packed exremely well and only one was cracked when it got to me. I have been on pins and needles over these tiny eggs and now, day 18, i have 5 pips!

Yay for you.. I am starting up my bator tonight and gonna try to find a few fertile eggs close by.. This will be my third attempt at hatching hope this one goes better then the rest..

I hope it goes better this time! My eggs went through frozen wasteland to get to me..I was sure they were goners! they aren't out of the woods yet, I keep peeking in with a flashlight though the clear panels..

Good Luck .. I think my problem is just me and not my eggs... I hope I can get it figured out... Keep us updated and pics of the babies are a must..

I can count 10 cracked shells now! Gosh they are hard to see into. I'm hatching them in my Brinsea Octo Eco 20. I've got it holding at 100 degrees and 60% humidity. I am so excited!

I mean those shells are so splotchy, with the dark spots and all, very hard to see if there is a pip or not. By holding my flashlight level with the eggs I can see where the cracked shell is raised from the chick pecking away..

Charging my batteries...
I see a total of 14 pips (that I can make out..) gosh how long does it take for them to break out of their shell? Even hubby keeps checking...I showed him pictures of quail chicks that Sam posted and he's pretty interested in these lil' bubble bees
