My Leghorn hen, Speckles, who lives with the mixed flock and not the other Leghorns *hehe* (she escaped from her coop one day while I was collecting eggs, and she joined the others while they were out free ranging, and she just fit right in with their clique so I just left her with them) anyway she LOVES feathers. If she sees a feather on the ground, she will pick it up and carry it around in her beak all day long. It is so funny!

Some chickens eat feathers when they need more protein.

she doesn't really eat them. Also they free-range most of the time plus they get laying pellets, scratch, fruits and veggies
