My Crossbeak Chicken named Cheeky

Just an update about our little Cheeky!! She's doing exceptionally well!!! My dad feeds her a full jar of baby food two to three times a day, and the most helpful is getting her to eat worms. Went to the store and bought some Night Crawlers, and she eats them right up if we dangle them out in front of her!! She's doing so much better then when I started this post. She's gained body weight, feathers, stronger and thicker legs, and more fluffiness.
Since this cross beak is a common thing that happens to Aracauna's hopefully this will help those who experience this in their flock and now they will know that there is hope for our poor crossbeaks.

Getting to enjoy the Spaghetti from the Thanksgiving feast of Spaghetti, Mangos, Tomatoes, Applesauce, and Pomegranate Seeds...

Finally a much deserved dirt bath in the sun!!!!

I have posted a new Album to my profile with all the pictures of Cheeky since she was a chick!! So it just goes to show how a cross beak chicken still has a fighting chance!! So check it out and ask questions if you happen to get a chicken with a crossed beak!!

I am proud to announce that Cheeky has finally joined the flock again after about 5 months stuck in a cage by herself. We are still hand/syringe feeding her liquified food two to three times a day to keep her going. So there is to a job well done. Give cross beaked chickens a chance!! 'cause trust me it's worth it!

Many people have crossbeaks - I believe there is even a crossbeak support group on BYC . You could try the search function. You have done so well with your girl you deserve a big pat on the back. Congratulations
