My crowing Polish pullet

I'm sure it's down to a power vacuum that hens in all female flocks step up into the role of Top Dog, and crowing comes with that!

But also, any chicken with Polish in it has some crazy half a brain that produces ditzy behaviour that makes no sense! Like running scared from a shadow, or trying to bully chickens way bigger than them, or getting spooked by Nothing At All at any given moment!

The “crowing” sounds like they are being strangled. She’s. A scaredy cat for sure but is somehow top dog.

I just adore Polish for their quirky characters!
