My current flock does not eat green stuff growing in their yard

After a couple of years of one crisis after another (humans coming on the property at night and killing the poor things off, one every couple of days), they finally seem safe and secure. The count is four silkies and two normal sized mutts, the two latter are elderly hens (apparently in retirement) and only one silkie hen that occasionally lays. Not sure if the other three silkies are roosters--two are, the third is... I'm not sure.

So I have never had chickens that didn't kill off and eat every living green thing they could reach. Not this bunch. The weeds are maybe 10 inches high, fairly thick. While I recognize living plants produce oxygen, and that's good, these also provide a place for nonchickens to hide out. I'm not all that worried about that, but I am curious about whether anyone else has had chickens who didn't eat growing plants.

I never use pesticides, herbicides or any other "cides." I'm in the country so the usual wild things are around, though they don't seem to bother anyone.

Should I be concerned that my birds are ignoring the plants? Could this be a sign of something wrong? Chicken PTSD maybe? All insights, especially experience with this, are welcome! TIA
