My custom coop arrived and it was wrong :(

Can you pull the inner wall out and use the entire structure as the coop?

Maybe temporarily tack plywood (or even tarps), over the short walls while turning the all-wire wall away from the prevailing winds?

Can I put heat in a hoop coop? We still need that here with nights in the 30's this week. yuck

yes, it is just metal panel, so you can hook it up to the top of it with a ziptie or some wire. I put a plastic sheet on mine so that it cut the wind through it and rain as a day-shelter when they don't have access to the coop.

I'm a great fan of Open Air coops and, having lived in Delaware, I know that you're getting well into warmer weather now.

at the start of this they have a temporary coop, fairly simple

this one is a bit more complicated

but youtube has lots of them

if all else fails... put plastic on a floor in a room of the house and make a space. You can survive this. (keep repeating that to yourself) Oh! and take pictures, you won't believe you did this later on

oldest ones are maybe 7-8 weeks, then the others are younger

Once they are fully-feathered you can wean them off heat and acclimate them to the outdoor temperatures.

I know, the local "chicken people" I trust have all said not to put them out in 30 degree weather without supplemental heat.

Yes, you can use the one pictured. The birds are 7-8 weeks old, and it is temporary. Just keep in mind that they grow fast and that you will need more room fairly soon. And, it sounds like you know all that.
