My custom coop arrived and it was wrong :(

that coop has got a lot of wasted space currently. What I would do is add more perching bars above the original perching bar going across. to fill that space. Means more chickens can sleep in it too. Laying boxes don't need to be anything fancy if it is temporary, just somethimg easily accessible. I have seen people use buckets.
I think it has plenty of ventilation. I wouldn't want to add any more, maybe just one vent at the top to prevent stale air building up there

Chickens don't stack for storage.

Ordered a custom coop through a local feed store, but when it was delivered we realized they forgot to do half of the things we requested, and messed up a couple of the other things, so they picked it up today. Now I have 10 homeless chickens :-/. Probably going to have to buy a TEMPORARY set up until we can get or build what we want. This is what I can get a hold of this week (the owner was super nice about speeding things up for me). I do want to have a much larger coop area for my permanent set up, so if anyone has some good plans they can point me to for a 6x6 or 6x8 coop Id appreciate it (or a place I can purchase one this isn't insanely expensive) My hopes is to add onto this coop/run so I don’t work have to waste money. I also need to buy an automatic door

thanks

I was looking at it again, and really what you need is to move the back wall out. Expand the depth from the back. They also need access to food and water at night, the builder didn't plan for walking around.

I sometimes go look in the window of the henhouse when I get out of bed to pee at night and there are some of the bottom-tier hens that wake up at night to have a snack while the bigger ones sleep. They are walking around and getting into mischief. :)) Unless you are up at 4am to let them out to roost, they will be up and milling about hours before you wake, this build looks like it expects them to be like little sculptures until you open the door to take them off their 2x4 shelf.

We ended up not getting this one. Getting a 6x8 coop instead and attempting to make a run

This is, admittedly, not proof against aerial predators and it isn't chick-tight,* but it's the easiest, most spacious run you can get.

I have 100" of the 48" netting with the solar charger. Both plug-in and solar chargers have their downsides and I'd be happy to give an honest evaluation of my solar charger if you're interested.

*I used short posts and cheap plastic netting inside the electric net to create a chick-tight space.
