My dad almost killed my chicken! Overheated? what to do?

Well, just got back in from outside again...she has totally stopped panting now and in fact the second time I checked on her she was ON the roost

I had another grape (cut up small of course) and she jumped down off the roost and seemed strong...TINY bit woobly but not bad

I want to thank you! THANK YOU THANK YOU! Another chicken saved

Now I can sleep knowing she will be ok in the morning

Just wanted to update you on the good news!

Well, she is 100% this morning and out in the run eating grass with her buddy. No wobblyness at all and she even runs

I believe if I hadn't see the heat lamps on last night when I got home from work and left them on that she would have no doubt been dead this morning. I yelled at my dad this morning and he says OH I thought I turned off the light...hes just turning all sorts of switches until the light turns off. Silly man! Hard to be mad at him though...at least he didn't mean to do it. Glad he was sleeping last night or I would have over yelled at him inbetween crying.
The bulbs are now OUT and that can't happen again

It shouldn't get down low enough again this year to even need them again.
The hen does seem closer to my now though...is the grapes or saving her life do you think? LOL My vote is the grapes!

WHere'd you get that information? When I'm eating grapes I always share with my dogs & if it's harming them it certainly isn't apparent.

Grapes are ok. Bad for dogs, ok for chickens.

So glad to hear she's doing better!!

ETA - I always used to give my dog grapes, too. They can damage their kidneys, I believe. Like other things, some dogs will be fine, some won't.
