Such a beautiful quilt!

What about doing an alternating set of borders for the back? I often do this when I want more than just the "plain" backing.
Like a rectangular bullseye. You could use your turquoise prints and the black as well as the pearl and some greys.

A lot of what you choose will be determined by how you plan to quilt it. Are you going to machine quilt it?

Thank you Nanakat! Hey I like that square bullseye idea! I'm going to do that!

As for the quilting part, I'm not sure......I was going to machine quilt, but I have a basic Singer I'm using, I can't figure how you would machine quilt such a large quilt?! How can I fit it under that small space! I was thinking of hand quilting the stars, then machine quilt the edges.... I don't know. How do you guys do it on a machine? Do I have to get a long arm?

No Luna....you don't have to have a longarm machine (but to have one would be great lol).....all you need is an embroidery/quilting foot. When you attach that to your machine, just drop the feed dogs and go with it. You will be quilting away. To get the quilt to fit in the small space.....you just roll up the quilt as you go and lay the rolled up part over your shoulder. I sure hope I am not confusing you.

Nice quilt.....I agree with a couple of the others and go with a bulls eye pattern on the back and use the same fabrics or you can just do a backing in strips of the same fabrics. Your daughter should love the quilt now and for years to come.

Hi Acre! That's what I was thinking.......you roll it up, but it seems so awkward. I do have a quilter's foot (is that what it's called?) My problem is space, but DH

came up with the idea of me quilting at the kitchen table (!!) Why I never thought of that, I don't know. Now on to the next problem: how do I want to quilt this - design wise. I think I better stick to something simple! I did buy the thinnest batting to try to make it easy to move around, and the spray for the fabric instead of base stitching it.

Thanks for the tips!

ohhhhh pretty fabrics. Your stars look great. I would also use the tourquois batiks, but you have such an eye for color, I am sure whatever you pick will be beautiful.

Hey thank you vfem, b.hromada & Cats Critters.......I appreciate that! That's Luna our cat, she likes to inspect the measurements......she doesn't trust me!
