Luna.....there is a quilters foot that is for sewing the patterns together, then thre is a quilter/embroidery foot that is used fo ractual quilting. Take you machine to your nearest store that sells feet and other items for your machine and ask for a quilting/embroidery foot and have them show you how to put it on. Here they run around 15 to 20 bucks. If I can find a pic of mine (q/e foot) I'll post it

THe foot is about 2 to 2.5" tall and has a round circle for the needle to go through. It has a small bar that goes over the needle screw so that is moves up and down with the needle allowing for movement for quilting. Mine is clear plastic but they are also made in solid metal also. I sure hope I haven't confused you.
