MY DEAD EGG JUST CHEEPED PLEASE HELP

So, the humidity outside is currently sitting at 95% and it’s still a little rainy. I only added a little bit of water, like a small squirt from the maybe 50mL MAYBE because I don’t want to add too much. Should I add more water since inside humidity is different or should I leave it alone?
Do you have a hygrometer in the incubator to tell you what the humidity is inside? If not, usually you fill both trays for hatch (not sure what type of incubator you have)

.....since we’re so new at this we don’t have a hydrometer. the model we got doesn’t have one....and it’s just one big tray....which is why I only put a squirt in there.... (I know I’m so unprepared)

Well you were lucky you heard and didn’t just go to sleep.

I would leave the lid closed since you added some water already. If you keep opening the top, it could shrink wrap the baby in the membrane. Give it time to start working on the shell.
Let us know what happens tomorrow. Good luck!

Alright, I’ll resist the urdge to check on it constantly. Thank you!

:D Hatched some time between 1:30 and 6:30 am. I read to leave them in there to let them gain their strength. He’s sitting instead of flopped on the floor. Should I leave him in there for another hour or two or move him to the brooder??

Yay! I'm happy for you @Oncoming Storm 👏🏻 Did you have another egg in there that may hatch or was he the only one? If that's the only egg and baby is dry & up moving around it's OK to move to brooder as it should be nice and warm in there. If you have another egg in there I would leave it closed unless you are certain it isn't viable.

I’m pretty sure the other egg is dead. I asked about it a while ago and the results weren’t good. I’ll leave him in there for now. He’s still kinda chilling, but he’ll chirp here and there (sometimes loudly) just to let me know he’s okay.

Woohoo! Congrats!
