Thank you Magsc I sure do hope she comes back too, as for the MIL well there is no hope for her lol. All i can say is KARMA will come back and bite her someday
Tell your MIL that the dogs are no longer invited at your home. She can pay the $50/night for a kennel while she's out of town. I think that's VERY fair.
No news on dahlia, our search efforts turned up nothing today. No trace of her anywhere, I am starting to think that a hawk got her. No feathers anywhere no trace whatsoever
It's gonna be another long sleepless night. Not having closure is really tough. I would be able to get over it if I knew what happened or knew she was hiding outside somewhere but i am left wondering and worrying.
Thank you city chook she knows exactly how I feel, the guilt is killing her and she has been trying to call all day, leaving messages telling me how deeply sorry she is and offering to help in any way she can to compensate. I do think she is sorry but I just can't talk to her right now
. Besides that you can't put a price on dahlia. I don't want her money I want my baby back
Because you love your husband, your MIL is a fact of life....But...since you have experience building chicken pens, how about a nice little dog pen specially for them when they come to visit???? Oh, you'll be so excited, dear MIL....You won't have to worry about anything bothering your little dogs! When they're outside, they can go in this NIFTY little yard I made for them!!!!
that made me giggle. It stormed pretty bad here last night and I worried about her getting soaked. Still no sign of her she has been missing for 2 days now. I think i'll put feed and water in the woods at the back of our property just in case she is back there even tho I combed those woods for hours she is so tiny she can hunker down anywhere and noone would know.
she is sitting on a nest somewhere safe and sound. I still have her daughter who is darn near a spitting image of her mama but not with the same personality as dahlia. I know how threads are worthless without pics so here is dahlias daughter Ebony
I hope it helps a little to know that there are tons of people here on BYC who are keeping you and your little chicken in their thoughts. I got teary-eyed reading about your situation, because I know how I would feel... I loved SallyF's reply, and I think that IS a possibility! Sending positive thoughts your way...
