when you click on the second picture, it looks larger then the first one. I must say to Kfchickenlady, your kids ride those horses as if riding them were a piece of cake. They cook awesome and the horses too

sorry if the pics are small, but after all, this isnt my thread!

I agree, you need to take some chairs out to the coop and sit down with a glass/bottle of wine and enjoy the result of all the hard work and setbacks! I want to see pics of your chickens and ducks in it.

Please understand though that this will not stay waterproof for very long, even if it is right now. So you will want to start working on scrounging up some proper roofing material -- even just sheets of plywood and shingles -- and either replace the roof before it starts to leak and rot, or if you prefer, store the materials til it DOES start to leak and just hope it doesn't do so too badly in weather when you *cannot* reroof. When you do, you will want to add some roof overhang (actually if you can sneak some flashing in there now, it'd be smart) so that water does not get down inside your walls and rot them too.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

This spring and summer, we will test it out and see how it is after when it rains. Worse case senario is to leave it at one area permanetly and put plywood and shingles on. Over hanging the roof was in my mind when building it, but when hubby helped he didn't want it and we made the tusses as a triangle to fit right on top of the side walls. As I took that roof and did it the second time, I totally forgot to overhang them. My sister said she has boxes of shingles in her garage, I got the plywood in my garage. We'll see what time and weather does.

Matter of fact, I would love to see more pic of your kids and horses if possible

I asked hubby to come early today so he can help me put the chickens and ducks in the new coop & run. I will take pic's when he is running after them

. That will be a site to see

Although I love chickens and ducks, catching them and holding the rooster isn't for me. I can only catch my fluffy white silkie cause she doesn't run away because she could hardly see where she's going with all that feather lol. There current run is horrible. Inches and inches deep of mud

. They have that play area where it's dry but the fence is only 4ft high so they can fly out when we try to catch them. If I let them out to walk down to the new coop and/or run, I don't know if they'll all go in. I'll give it try before he comes.
