My destiny has changed ! They moved in, pic's on on 36

If you use composite/asphalt roofing it will be heavy. You might look into membrane roofing? Without all the foam underneath., Just the membrane. Looks like a piece of white rubber and glues down, and, should be a lot lighter than anything else.

Alum panels over the 1/4 plywood?

Take more pictures and be specific in what you want out of it.

Laying boxes, doors, windows etc.

You wanted to leave the bottom open so they can walk under the coop?

More pics plz.

Make sure you don't get ahead of yourself and put something in that makes other installations harder, or worse, need to be removed before you can proceed.

I can't believe that with so many out of work that you can't find a handy man. As soon as you are happy with the foundation you will want to put the floor in. Instead of hard wiring in lights you could do a solar lighting system?

I admire your ambition!

Yesterday I had a migraine headache, much pills later and after getting back my vision back, I was able to think this thing clearly. I was thinking of covering that 3ft run with some type of roof and along side to it, I was planning on building a 8x8 off the groung coop that can also be movable too. I would be using that run and the bottom of the coop as run in the winter when I pull it closer to the house during the winter months. The other 3 seasons, the coop and the 3ft of run would be right next to the big run 32x38 with an access to the big run. But as I was thinking to cover the the top of that 3ft run, I was thinking, the only thing it is keeping it from closing it the bottom. I've seen a lot of coops that have the top a-frame closed for coop purposes. I thought, if I cover the bottom where a-frame is and the top, making doors, ventilation and etc. And instead of building that 8x8 portable coop, I would build 4x8 along side this run that the roof will be covered. That way, they will have more place to live. I will plan on more and will provide more pics later.

Today is my son's 3rd birthday. No contruction today

BTW, I picked up a solar lighting system, 3 light system from Home Depot for $15, last one etc. they gave it to me at cost. Normally they sell for around 35 bux and like I said, 3 lights, solar. I'm using mine to illuminate my American flag at night.

I think your hubby may be less than supportive because your success is threatening his manhood. Here's what I do... Find something "manly" that he can do, then extend lavish praise. It works every time here. Sometimes I pretend I can't lift something just so he can "rescue" me. Love the ego and you might find a nicer hubby.

Kudos on building the coop solo, that run is beautiful.

LOL. Today, I hope, he'll be helping me out putting the other half of the run's roof. A lot of 16 ft long 2x4's. We have 16x38 to go. I have to go, I'll review and responce later. Bye all.

We didn't work on the big run today. My hubby wanted to work on the small run because it was under sun (we're both still very sick). We had guests since last night so as soon as they left, we headed outside to do some work. I will take pic's tomorrow and post them. But something still doesn't feel very right, back to the drawing board !

awww thank you hon. It's curtainly not fun at all when we're sick and cold and trying to figure it out as we go along. Something came crashing on to his head to help me out while he was sick too. Spring refuses not to come to East coast, everyone I know is sick. I think it will be either few more days or weeks depending how the weather and my flu is. Hubby going back to work tomorrow, so I'll be back to work on the coop and run tomorrow morning. If only we were more experienced, we would of been finished by now. Trying to figure it out and re-doing it again if mistaken takes longer then actually building it.

Not quite up to par Saturday but had to drive up to my house in the desert to feed my Goats and horse. I feed a bale at a time and ours are 125 lbs on average. Then Sunday I had an Animal Husbandry class for goats and sheep sitting out in the cold. Dont beat yourself up for mistakes.... just make notes and move on every one starts somewhere. Safe is more important than pretty for sure.... Got to go take more Cough syrrup.....
