My DH is afraid of my chickens!!!!

Me & My Peeps :

My wife was like that. I told her, "You just have to spend time with them and let them know you represent food. They'll come around".

One day about a month ago, I had her sit in the pen on a pail. I quickly handed her an ear of corn and they were ALL over her!! On her lap, flying up on her shoulders, she tried to get up but forgot to let go of the corn so they kept following her! LOL I was laughing so hard I couldnt even tell her to drop it.

Here's a post I made about it; https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4373843#p4373843 post #10

not a phobia on his behalf...he likes other birds, we have tons of them around all year long, inthe winter we get more than in the summer and if he goes out there with feed (cause there is barely anything to eat for them with 4 feet of snow everywhere) they will literally come right to him, land in his hand or arm, and he rescued several quails and partridge chicks last fall from our cat. I just think he doesn't know a whole lot about chickens so he gets a little freaked out. However its not stopping him from making them an awesome barn coop and run, he's been out there for 4 days straight, running wires, building walls, renovating the outside to keep large predators out and adding bug zappers so they don't get eaten up alive by mosquitoes and deer flies, adding roosts that can be resized as the chisk grow and nesting boxes too. I wanted a smaller coop, but I went to see it yesterday 11 X 10 feet it looks really cute!!!

LOL!!! The chickens rushed him. I dated a girl who was deathly afraid of chickens. I asked her if it was the fact that they sneak into the house and watch her while she sleeps, or what? Watch her with their dead eyes?

For some reason, that did not help her.

C'mon, now.... it may be amusing, but we ALL have our 'things'. Don't laugh at him or bring it up in front of others.... especially if you hope to gently bring him around to liking chickens someday.
