Someone left the bathroom door open and my dog attacked my brooder boxes. I have 1 dead cuckoo maran and a lot of drenched chicks. I still dont know if I found them all yet. 2 were in the bedroom and 2 in the tub. Found several chicks behind the toilet. 2 of them seem to be the most traumitized. I cant tell if they are really stressed or if they had some sort of internal injuries. One is worse than the other, i think its just ticked. I have given both of them pedialight. Anything else I can do for these little guys?

This happened to us on this past Sunday - we had 3 chicks and one died shortly after.
I got them in heat and gave them water with a spoon dipping the beaks. Then a made a gruel from the chick starter and water and with the same spoon offered them very watery food.
One was just in shock the other was hurt - no puncture wounds. I fully expected her to kick the bucket but she rallied much to my joy and surprise. It took a day and a night of keeping them fed and hydrated but both look really great tuesday am and are both eating and drinking on thier own. Brooder temp 90 degrees.

When people are in shock they need warmth, water and a little food later on - applied same logic to the chickens - seems to work so far.

My dog wasn't trying to be vicious - but he is a dog. I think he thought they were play things. It happens so fast.

I have been watching to see if the chick out of shock might peck at the weaker one - so far not. I keep them in the bathroom too - I have the light off and the red heat lamp on. I did add some gatoraid powder to the food. about a 1/4 tsp and I had a 1/4 cup of food mixed with 1/2 cup of water.

My dog wasnt trying to kill or be viscious, she was just playing. No puncture wounds, just internal damage. So far I have only lost 2 and that last one went into shock I beleive like yours. I have pedialyte I have given everyone. And vitamins, more of those. But I think she took out my last cuckoo hen, I gave the rest of the chicks I beleived to be hens away to a friend. So now I have 2 roos I think.
