My dog cage brooder. Hope this is okay

Yep, we have done the same thing many times over.. put the two halves together. We zip tie them through the little holes and walla.. perfect chick brooder. But you will have to cover it cuz they will be getting out far sooner than you would imagine.
 
They should be fine, I used my dog's kennel for a brooder and had a towel at the bottom then gradually raised the lamp the older they got. I once read if the chicks are smooshed together they are too cold, and if they're on the outer edges of the cage they are too hot. I had 7 in there, now I'm only doing 2 this time. The problem I had is they would get curious and squeeze out of the cage

I'm in the Frazier Park mountains. The area is comprised of Frazier Park, Cuddy Valley, Pinon Pines and Pine Mountain Club. It's about 30 minutes north of Magic Mountain in California.
