My dog had puppies

Why sad for the puppies? The world needs caring breeders. What we don’t need are backyard breeders that don’t take proper care of the dogs and are just looking to make a profit. If you are responsible, caring, and find the dogs good homes, then there is no problem. This may be just stemming from the fact that I live in a state that actually has a dog shortage (the shelters actually take quite a lot of their dogs from states down south and Puerto Rico, they are also almost all no-kill due to the numbers of loving homes).
What state? I have never heard of a dog shortage in the USA. I tend to think we need less people breeding their dogs period, purebred or not. Working in rescues and shelters has me pretty wary of “breeders” nowadays.

I’m sad for the puppies because they’re not what the “breeders”, wanted them to be , they were an experiment of sorts . People need to get better hobbies ... a dog shortage ? Really??

We have something of a "shortage" in our area too, so a number of dogs at shelters or rescue here are brought in from out of state. Both of my current dogs were taken from high kill shelters in California. It's not really a shortage though... it's more redistribution of dogs from areas with very overcrowded shelters, to areas that can more readily absorb a little of the excess.

Maine. More dogs come into the state and get adopted than go out.
As you can see, Maine has one of the highest amount of pet owners in the US: http://dogtime.com/trending/17160-us-states-with-most-and-fewest-pet-owners-named

I’d read this article as well, it’s all about my home city, Portland! People are really desperate for dogs! https://www.pressherald.com/2018/04/15/for-shelter-dogs-from-away-doors-wide-open-in-maine/

Here are my puppies, “double doodles”. They are 3/4 poodle, 1/8 lab, and 1/8 golden, leading to a highly intelligent, freindly, and hardy dog. I absolutely love their dad, ane although they are not technically “purebred”, they are almost guaranteed to have great temperaments, knowing their parents and grandparents.
