I’m not exactly sure what happened but my English Bulldog who I thought I trusted with my chickens hurt my Cuckoo maran hen and now she’s limping. The hen flapped here wings and was a little to close to my dog and she got her mouth close to her foot and barked at her and I saw her limping! I didn’t see her bite the chicken but something is wrong with her leg. She hopped on 1 foot a little and is limping. She’s laying down right now too. What should I do for her? Will she be ok?

Yes I don’t see any and there’s no blood. She’s doing a lot better and only has a slight limp.

Might have been some bruising due to aggravated and unnatural contact between the two causing the temporary limp, much like a football player that gets hurt on one play but comes back to play a few plays later.

Keep an eye on her, but I'd bet good money that you won't know she was bruised (injured) in a few days.

As for the dog, that's up to you. More training and more trust?

Thanks! That’s good to hear because I just lost my favorite hen and would hate to lose another. I’ll have to closely work with my dog but she won’t be left with the chickens again which is a bummer because she was so good with them.
