my dog is reverse sneezing a lot!!!!

my dog is turning 6 years old on the 21st, he is a mini pin mixed with a chi. every so often he will get a reverse sneeze but not often at all and I have not heard him do it in a while. but the other day I was gone at my sisters for a few hours, and he was home alone with my german shepherd, and my lab. and when I got back he started reverse sneezing and shaking. I did not know what was wrong but did my very best to calm him down! my german shepherd sometimes trys to play with him but sometimes gets too rough. he gets kinda scared of that sometimes but I don't think that's it. so know he was just doing it again, it scares me, and I can tell it scares him when he does it!! so I always try and calm him down and make him fill safe. but why is he doing it so much lately? is it cuz he wants to be with me, or is it allergies. he has never had allergies before. is there anything I can do to help him!?View attachment 1935680

It could be reverse sneezing due to medical issues, it could also be from rotting tooth roots. There are several reasons why it could be happening, but no one will know because we can't physically see the dog in front of us. Best thing to do would be to go to a veterinary office.

That would make sense if it was rotting teeth roots. He has gingivitis and I'm trying to save enough money to get his teeth cleaned

Get the teeth done fast bad teeth are the death of little ones you can help now use baking soda and gauze little water kinda like brushing them but massage

Yeah when they have rotten roots it makes them sneeze because their tooth roots are close to their nasal passages.

I understand saving for it. You can buy really good tooth paste at a pet store than can help a bit, but it won't get completely under the gums like a vet would with their tools and experience.

Personally I'd just keep an eye on the dog. Little dogs tracheal will colaps sometimes and they honk. Happens if excited. If it happens lots take him in for an examination.
