I have a yorkie pup that is about 6 mos old, and he had taken to stealing eggs out of the coop and eating them. When I catch him with an egg, he gets scolded and sent in the house, but this is not working. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

you got an egg suckin hound there. I think you are going to need to find a way of keeping him out of the eggs.

In times past calling someone and "egg suckin dog" was on of the lowest of all derogatory terms.

My dog is great with the chickens but loves to go in the run and sneak food. It is not a big problem except that she comes in house and throws up. That is a problem. Not sure what to do. I dont tink I will break her of the habit. It is a little like asking her not to eat.

Yikes! I know it is their nature, but I was able to break our Chihuahua when she was trying it. I know for a fact that he ate at least 8 eggs on Saturday. That was how many I counted, and then they were just..........gone.

He is a mess....

Good luck with your girl, hopefully she will learn that while she loves them, they don't love her.

Ohhh that is a good idea....I may have to try that....

I just asked my son if he likes hot things...Jordan (my son) eats hot cheetos and I guess Tator likes em too, so that might not work..I think I will try it anyway just in case.

When I was a teenager we had a hen for a short time (long story). Our dog would seek out the eggs. I blew out an egg and filled it with a mixture of cheyenne pepper and she never touched another egg. You can seal the ends with paraphen wax or probably any candle wax will do.
