My dog just killed a wild bird...

My border collie was just out in the yard and killed a tiny wild bird. I am so sad right now. She is so good to the chickens. I just wish there was someway I could save the poor little thing. Poor little guy.

EDIT: I was so determined to save this little bird I even took it as far as doing bird CPR (using a straw). I didn't work though. Its dead.

Aww, I'm really sorry. Even my dogs that were great with chickens couldn't resist wild birds. So sorry the little fella passed.

Our border is fantastic with the chicks and chickens - ducks, geese and turkey.................BUT I cannot get her to stop killing other birds either

She is encouraged to hunt rabbits, mice, ground squirrels, moles - etc............and I discourage the wild birds but *sigh*
