I am a stay at home mom and a dog breeder of 12 years and a trainer of 8 years of Labrador Retrievers and Pembroke Welsh Corgis. My little girl just turned one year old last year and I love being able to do what I love best all day everyday and hang out with my daughter and my best four legged friends! I started with a couple of chickens to give people bringing their young ones something to go look at and now have pretty much a small petting zoo! LOL I really love to see the looks on the kids faces when they get a chance to go in the pen and pet all the animals though.

6 weeks! WOW! congrats to you! Do you work with dogs also? It took me a while before I got used to juggling both but now I love every minute of it!

Thanks!!!! Shes a sweetie. I work with dogs too. I love it. I have two old bichon frises, a pure lab and a lab mix. Right now im trying to get my labs back into shape. I got lazy when i was prego. So working on getting them crisp on commands again. They are two years and a year n a half old. I thinking of building a agility course for them. I was teaching them service dog type stuff for fun. Like picking up things & handing them to you or opening doors etc... My parents use to do search and rescuse so we are going to train them for that too just for fun though. I like to maybe some day compete in something but that cost money. What do you do?

Im kinda across the river from muscatine,ia

I do retreiver training and breeding. All my labs are the hyper field lines so I take them out almost everyday to work with them to keep them going and on track. I have two that I want to get field titles on and one that I am training to be a dock jumping dog (the one in the pic) LOL! The corgis are mostly companions and I started breeding them when I was looking to purchase one for myself and had the worst problem finding them and outragious prices so my herd grew and now I will breed them a couple of times a year. I have two that I trained to track blood so they get used at the hunting clubs a lot during deer season.
I got really lazy when I was preggers to and it set me back a lot in training but now everyone is rolling on like they should be. I own 5 corgis and 6 labs right now. Ages 7 weeks up to 9 years and all have been here since they were 7 weeks old except one...LOL!

Thats awesome about the corgis! My lab mix we got at the pound at four months as a buddy for my lab. Kinda hard for him to play with the bichons. My lab mix juny has a nose like none other. She was tracking mice under two feet of snow and digging towards them. She tracks and then air scents moles in the summer. We have juny holes everywhere. Sweet dog short attention span. My lab is great with obenice and is such a water dog. I'd love to breed bichons. I love the breed. The biggest probelm with them i've found is they are not very smart. If they would breed for brains and beauty i really think they'd be more liked. But my DH is not thrilled with the idea so i won't. I'd love to have more dogs. We had up to eight at a time when i lived with my parents. My DH would be happy with just one so we agreed on four at a time. I'm hopeing someday i'll get more. He would really like a great dane for the next dog. I'm not so sure. I grew up with mastiffs and newfoundlands. I'd love a mastiff but danes not so much. We like dobermans but they are not good for being outside. I'd love a standard poodle too.

That's cool! I have a friend with a great dane and she opens up all their doors so they have to keep them locked and all the knobs are chewed up from her trying to turn them! LOL!She is so large and mostly walks her owners. hahaha I couldn't imagine my life without my little girl and all the doggies that I have. They are just so much fun to watch and work with.
