When my vet suggested putting my dog with a bad heart on vigra,I thought it was funny. Vigra opens up blood vessels increasing blood flow. I dropped off prescription and was told it would be exspenive. A months supply at 2xd is more then my house payment! I am afraid of those online vigra offers, no way I will give them my credit card info. Anyone know of a trustworthy site to buy cheap vigra?

Oh, I'm waiting to see who replies to this thread.

Realistically though perhaps a partial prescription to see how your dog responds. I would doubt that it would be necessary to administer an entire pill to a dog. Not that I have any experience with the drug.

If you have health insurance and are male, get a scrip from your doctor? Or is it not covered by insurance? Hmm.

Yes, it is incredibly expensive. Before it was used for a male medication, Sildenafil was used to treat pulmonary hypertension, but the interesting side effect was revealed. Did the vet even try any other medications for your dog's pulmonary arterial hypertension (I assume this is the problem) before going strait to Sildenafil?

Edit: spelling

I would also ask for a free sample again to check to see if it is even going to have a theraputic benefit for your dog

Oh, I also found a full text version of a study done, Clinical efficacy of sildenafil in treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension in dogs . It does say that Sildenafil "significantly decreased pulmonary artery pressure gradient from baseline". But, the study only consisted of thirteen dogs total, a very small population sample for a good scientific study. And it doesn't address survival time in dogs with PAH, whether it is worth it or not.
