My dogs TOTALLY earned their keep today.

most dogs are driven by territory guarding... but in saying that, I had a couple of females who are very protective towards any young animal we leave with them to look after, to the point they actually drove all the males away from the vicinity of their "nest"... oneof them is in my prof pic doing her job.

Good job doggies!! I have been wanting a dog, but my flock is about to grow by 15 chicks and I don't think I have the time right now. My family lives in harmony with my flock and my two barn cats who love the chickens. I hope I'm not stirring the pot too much by bringing the babies in.

"dogs are the only animal that kills for sport" whoever said that has no clue!!! Many animals have this type of behavior (orcas, cats, etc), and labeling it like that drives me nuts!
