My dogs weird new habit

So lately my 1 yr old cavalier has taken to licking my bichon on the mouth after she comes inside from a walk. What is he trying to do? I was thinking he is just cleaning up her drool.

He also discovered himself in the mirror today and kept barking at his reflection - what a dork!

I think he's trying to tell your bichon that she is alpha.
