My Drake just laid an egg

bill color actually isn’t a good way to tell their gender! i had a girl with a bright green beak, one of my boys has a grey beak with freckles, and one of my girls used to have a bit of green on her feathers
What is best way to tell? Waddles bill used to be green then when she started laying it went slate color. I'm going to take them to the vet in January as Waddles needs blood work to make sure infection is gone and Dawdles to find out what sex he/she really is!! lol

If the Drake has no curled Drake feather, their quack is a pretty easy way to tell male from female.
Females have the typical duck quack sound like you would hear in a movie and Drakes have a quieter raspy quacking noise.

voice is the best way to tell, drakes also don’t always have curls and sometimes hens will get curls too

Ok, thanks I'll check it out. I'd be happy with 2 hens don't have to separate in spring.
