What you're going to want to do is the next time he shows you this behavior, is scoop him up and straddle him while on your knees. Once you have between your legs.... hunker down on him with your body, don't crush him and hold his head down with your fore arm in a submissive way. Kinda like when he holds a hen down for mating . Keep him like that until he stops wiggling around. Then gently let him free. You might have to do this a couple times in order for him to reliase your the one in charge!

I just spent about an hour reading through this thread and all I can say is WOW! What an emotional trip you must have gone through D: but Aflac’s recovery is so amazing! I’m so glad he’s alright. That’s probably the worst case of bumblefoot I’ve ever seen. And I can definitely relate with you when it comes to being young and not having a lot of access to things, I just graduated last year. But you have done such an amazing job and you’ve saved Aflac’s life! I’m sure he’s so grateful for everything you’ve done even if it hurts. Soon enough he’ll be good as new and will have you to thank for :,)

Thank you so much I’ll definitely try both!! I’m sick of it, it hurts a lot and he refuses to stop. He does it everyday and every time I go in there in the pen or touch them st all. So I sure hope this will help teach him to knock it off
I'm sure that he's being protective of his girls......that he just got back after being gone soooo long.

You look great in your profile pic for your school formal.

:goodpost: I did this with my Muscovy drake and was consistent [that is the key] and he just every once in a while has to be reminded make sure his head is facing away from you when you release him.

Thank you so much!! That was my senior formal. That’s Ronnie next to me with the blue hair haha :) we are officially back together. It’s going good so far so that’s good again. I figured he was protecting the ladies but he should know I’m the caregiver and I love them all and don’t hurt them!!

Thank you so incredibly much. It’s definitely been a VERY long and such a rough emotional ride. The big guys still healing even today. It was awful. But so worth it to help him. I love him and all the rest of my birds so so much, they are my children right now. And I’ve done all I can for them. Thank you, you’re so sweet :)
