My drakes foot is ALWAYS bleeding??!

Pics
Please do not cut into the second foot tomorrow. If you do anything, just soak both of them and post pictures of today's foot when it's all cleaned up.
We won't. We will do his usual fifteen min epsom salt soak, and then pull him out and take a look at the cut foot to see what happened and what Ronnie did and we will look at his untouched foot. I won't see him until tomorrow so I won't be able to get you guys pics of today's aftermath until I go to farm tomorrow. But I will soak and then show you both feet and you can tell me what you think then and help me. Yes? And after the soak if we aren't to cut or anything since one foot has already been cut what do I do? Like what do I apply to both sides and do I bandage

We will tomorrow. We didn't watch any videos first. And I don't see him till tomorrow. He said he pulled out stringy stuff?

Take a deep breath...

Stringy stuff was infection, not all infection looks exactly the same...

I would not cut the second foot though... please, do read back, cutting should only be last resort... plugs/infection should be pulled/plucked out with tweezers/forceps first... sounds like he got infection out of the first foot, but to *hopefully avoid* as much bleeding, I would not start with cutting on the second foot, but prying up the plug and infection first, make sense?

And how do I do that exactly right? What are my steps for tomorrow for both the foot we cut into today and the not touched one. What treatment after epsom salt soak for both feet. I wanna make sure I treat and do this right tomorrow

Ok. I have read this whole thread and keep scratchin my noggin.... WHERE IN THE HELL ARE THE TEACHERS HERE? I mean the school ones not the wonderful helpers you have here. Why are they not involved? It is a class about stuff like this is it not?
No. We don't really do anything like that. It's a dumb class. My boyfriend and I just feed and care for the chicken unit birds and our own. It's our responsibility if they belong to us. Aflac is ours so it's "our deal"

But there is no adult to help? Earlier you said you jad asked a teacher for supplies.... and then a vet that dealt with horses maybe? Call that vet and explain who you are and the class you are in. He might surprise you and check in on this bird and how it is doin for nothin if he is in the area.

Make sure your phone is charged up so you can take pics each step of the way, as much as possible... post them as you go, if you can...

Soak the foot in warm epsom salt water, wash it with antibacterial soap afterwards and rinse well... then try prying up around the edges of the plug with tweezers and pull out any stringy/chunky pieces that are whitish/yellowish... rinse, apply iodine, gauze and wrap... if it bleeds, use the wound powder and then the guaze pad...

That help? These are just basics, may need to change as you go, just try to keep calm and adjust as needed... I would get pics of the first foot and post before messing with it further...

Hun I think for tomorrow or the scalpel away get a good strong pair of tweezers and do everything with just those. And take a breath your trying and that's about the most important thing to remember right now
