My drakes foot is ALWAYS bleeding??!

Y'all are doing the work, you just needed some guidance... just a bit of teaching... and many couldn't do what you are doing... well done and good duck parents!
Yeah we did.. I have major anxiety and OCD so like when this kind of thing happens i REALLY freak out and can't think straight. Ronnie is my rock and has to help calm me down. As soon as I realized Aflac has something wrong I cried and panicked. Same with when my turkeys got fowlpox even though I knew it wouldn't kill them I was so afraid for them. I hate for any of my birds to get anything bad. And this really pulled at my heart. Still is but I can't wait to see him happy with his females again. They miss him too Quackers and Wiggles seem kinda down since he's been out :(

I am the same way... much easier to be calm when I am not involved with my own having an issue... :hugs
But you did great too... and don't worry, the girls will be happy when he can rejoin them...

I hope so :) and thank you so much.. we still have a ways to go though huh..?

Yup, unfortunately... takes time for it to get that bad, takes more to fix/heal it... but worst is over, I think... and now you know how to work on it with much less trauma... :hugs

Weekly feet checks is a good habit to get into, and warm epsom salt soaks alone help if anything even starts looking 'off'... that can head off any future issues from becoming quite so bad...

Feet checks on all my birds turkeys too? And how long of a process do you think it may be until he's ok and can go back..?

Yep, turkeys too... since birds spend most their life standing, it is easy for them to get little injuries that can get worse if not treated right away...

Probably looking at 1-2 weeks, depending... if there is still any infection that was missed, it will need to come out... if it's all out and heals fairly quick, then could be less time... but you don't want to rush and have it end up worse than it was... just take it a day at a time, just like he is...

Yep doing the two- three day soak and applying stuff and bandages to give his feet a break :) hope he heals quick! And hope my turkeys never get it. That would kill me too..

That's why you watch for cuts, thorns, splits, or pokes in the bottom of the feet... clean, soak, remove thorn/etc if there and apply iodine... prevent the infection is much easier than dealing with it later... :)
