My Drakes

[Reblue2009]

Hello my name is Robin. I have four drakes. One is a Saxony and the other three are Call ducks. I had two Saxony that were given to me and one was killed by coyotes. I live in Washington state in the mountains. I’m very new at ducks. A lady gave me three Call ducks to keep my grieving duck company. We built a duck sanctuary with a homemade pond and it’s completely fenced in. They also have a kiddie pool and a couple mud ponds. Everything has been great. Then the weather changed a lot of wind and 30’s at night. My big duck who is very vocal and quacks for peas every morning stopped yesterday morning. Won’t even eat. He was just standing in one spot and no interest in anything. We built a much warmer shelter insulated with straw and he slept in there peacefully all night. This morning he drank a little water and just wants to sleep.. I’m worried about him. Is the weather change the reason?

They have been together for a little over 12 weeks
