a project i could do with what i have... already is...
crossing my RIR roo with my EE hens
making exellent blue-tan egg laying chicks...
breed a roo from them with the polish i am getting this spring to make a small crested, good laying, friendly, LF, babys
then breed them for a few generations... That isn't breaking my familys rules

It'll be called a Camerata di creazione pronounced (Camer-at-a-Dee-Cree-ay-zee-on) thats Italian for Camarata Creation
would anybody want that??

My dream project is to create a bird that lays well but also grows quickly enough and breeds true so I can use it for a DP meat bird as well but still have a super sweet personality. That way I would have the best of both worlds (tons of eggs and large body type that grows well so that they are a serviceable meat bird).

I have sort of already started this. I have Light Brahmas because of their size, a trio with two hens and a roo. The hens are 4 months and grew fast. They are already close to 10 pounds and very filled out. My roo is heavier than the hens and also. I also have a trio of Delaware birds that have shown a tendency to grow fast and fill out well. All are super friendly. I will be breeding pure birds of each breed keeping those that grow quickly and fill out well, but I also was thinking of crossing the two and keeping a roo and a few hens that grow fast, large and are super friendly to breed back to the opposite group.

We'll see how it goes as we get more into it hehe.

2 RIR(1 roo), 1 golden comet, 2 EEs, and in the spring im gettin a polish and maybe a silkie...
